Data Archiving allows the Site Administrator to archive and purge issues and related data from the RMTrack database using a predefined "rule". The rule tells RMTrack which issues to archive and purge for example: "All Closed Issues where the Release was 2.0".
There are 4 steps to the Archive and Purge process:
Create or modify the rule for the archive process
Do a Trial Run - this creates just the HTM part of the output so that a verification can be done that the correct issues are being archived
Do the Archive Run - this creates a full set of archive files
Do the Purge Run
... and a 5th step outside RMTrack ...
NOTE: Clients hosting their own RMTrack will need to work with their internal IT people to gain access to the archive files and have them moved to an appropriate location.
The archive rules list page displays a summary of all defined archive rules. Each rule is listed by name and includes; which projects the rule applies to, the conditions for the rule, the current status of the rule and details about the last time it was run.
To add a new Archiving Rule, click the New button. To delete a rule, select the row by clicking anywhere to the right of the rule name and then click the Delete button. To modify a rule, click on the rule name.
